Our Client, has been a provider of transmission and distribution products and services for the electrical power industry for over 50 years as well as engineering and on-premises steel fabrication and packaging.
The AutoCAD Structural Designer/Detailer is a highly skilled position in the Engineering Department. Initial duties include structural steel detailing via AutoCAD, interpretation of construction plans and survey information, as well as daily problem solving. Engineering acuity and an understanding of basic design principles is helpful. This is a challenging position which requires a high degree of personal discipline and technical expertise.
- Reports to the Project Design Engineers
- Minimum 1-year degree in drafting required, or three years of drafting experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Determine information from construction plans
- Create structure shop drawings for fabrication and field assembly
- Check shop and field erection drawings for accuracy and completeness per project specifications
- Coordinates with designers and project engineers daily to ensure drawings meet project requirements
- Coordinates with key shop personnel to establish best practices on the shop drawings
- Utilize MS Excel daily (understanding of Visual Basic Applications for Macros a plus)
- Drafting in AutoCAD (2018)
- Daily use of MS Outlook

Civil/structural Engineer- (Transmission/substation Design)

The Civil Structural Engineer will be responsible for the design of Transmission Line Structures, Substation Structures and Foundations. This is an opportunity for a person willing to be flexible, wear multiple hats and execute the technical needs of day-to-day projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- B.S. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET Accredited Institution
- Registered P.E. (current) OR E.I.T. with the ability to obtain a P.E. license
- 5- 10 years of experience in transmission structure and /or substation design with PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE software or the equivalent experience in substation structure design with STAAD or equivalent software.
- Utility and/or consulting engineering firm experience is an asset.
- Experience with Civil design/site preparation is a plus.
- Distribution Line experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Responsible for the design of Transmission Line Structures and Substation Structures and Foundations.
- This work will entail the design of EHV, HV and MV transmission structures using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE software and the design/layout of EHV, HV and MV Substation support structures that adhere to IEEE and ASCE standards.
- Required to interpret written Client specifications and the ability to assist in the preparation of preliminary designs and proposals.
- Responsible for carrying out Project Management from the onset of the contract through the delivery of the product or completion of the project.
- Responsibilities will involve engineering tasks associated with the design of high-voltage electrical systems.
